Robin DuBoux has been in the fitness industry for 20 years. She's been involved in many aspects from personal training, group training, management and studio owner. In 2006 Robin took her first Mat Pilates class and fell in love with the movement. The precision and purpose of each move was something that kept her coming back. Being a personal trainer Robin has always been very focused on alignment with her clients as to not create imbalances in the body and educating her clients on how to move through each exercise in order to achieve optimal results. Pilates does all that and more so for that reason she decided in 2008 to go through the teacher training program with Body Arts and Science Institute (BASI) to allow for a deeper understanding of the exercises and why they are done and how they can help anyone living with pain, muscle imbalances, or just poor core strength and how to teach others the benefit of Pilates. Her certifications include: * Body Arts and Science Institute (BASI) teacher training program * Bootybarre plus certified * American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer (ACE) * AFAA Group Fitness Instructor

Maria is a Ventura County native, and she lives in Channel Islands Harbor, California. Her love for Pilates likely started years ago, as she was quite active in Classical Ballet as a youth. She has always been a student of physical science, and is forever looking for the “why and the how” when presented with a technique that can benefit the overall well-being of a person. She has practiced Pilates for over 20 years as a participant, and recently she has taken that interest to the next level by gaining her certification in the Club Pilates program. Her attraction to Pilates is attributable to the mind-body connection and awareness you receive from the practice of Pilates. She enjoys teaching and is excited to share her love of Pilates with classes that safely challenge and empower members. In Maria’s off-time, she enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband Steve, and their six children and four grandchildren!

I’m a passionate proponent of the difference Pilates can make in your life. When I am not teaching Pilates you will find me chasing my grandchildren around or traveling with my husband. As a biology teacher I understand the changes our bodies go through over time and how difficult it can be when you are working with disease, injuries and aging. In the Pilates studio I pay attention to my students and encourage them to practice with proper body form, alignment, movement and breathing. I do my best in every class to ensure they are learning correctly and performing to their best ability. I believe in teaching with compassion and caring for each individual understanding each day is a journey and we all have our ailments that make it more difficult some days than others. I enjoy helping members achieve their health and fitness goals along with teaching the amazing benefits of Pilates. And I am bringing a lifetime of enthusiastic fitness and teaching experience into my classes. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and love of Pilates!

She is also a certified Massage Therapist, certified Yoga Therapist and an avid indoor rock climber & salsa, Argentine tango & west coast swing dancer.
